Chevrolet has designed and produced a new line of smarter than smart cars ideal for crowded city streets. This futuristic concept is perfect for people with short commutes who want to save money on gas. Although it won't help you during a move, it will definitely be the perfect get-around car. The two-seater EN-V will have a few trial runs in China before seeing a wider market globally, but will hopefully come to the states soon.
General Motors has given the world a preview of its vision for the future of city transportation with the unveiling of the Chevrolet EN-V 2.0 concept at the 2012 Beijing motor show.
The concept is an evolution of the first-generation EN-V concept (pronounced ‘envy’, for ‘Electric Networked Vehicle’) that debuted at World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
The second-gen concept retains its upright pod motorcycle-helmet styling but adds two extra wheels (now four in total) for improved stability and performance.
Unlike the initial concept, the two-seat EN-V 2.0 includes climate control and a luggage compartment, and its engineers say it is now capable of driving in any weather and across all city roads.
Looking for a family car that offers performance, style, and excellent gas mileage? The 2013 Malibu Eco might just be for you. With a 25mpg city/37mpg highway the Malibu Eco can get you where you want to go and back with a full suite of new technologies to help along the way.
Chevrolet's Malibu mid-size sedan is a welcoming family car -- revamped for 2013 with handsome styling, a quieter, refined interior and a pleasant ride.
The Malibu's eAssist electric motor supplements its four-cylinder gasoline engine. Unlike full hybrids like the Toyota Prius and Ford Fusion Hybrid, the Malibu Eco cannot travel solely on electric power, even for short spurts. Still, the 2013 Malibu Eco earned a fuel economy rating of 25 miles per gallon in city driving and 37 mpg on highways from the federal government.
The ratings compare attractively to the 22/33 mpg rating of the predecessor, 2012 Malibu with a four cylinder and no accompanying electric motor.
The 2013 Malibu Eco is already at dealer showrooms and is being sold alongside 2012 non-Eco Malibus.
Starting manufacturer's suggested retail price, including destination charge, is $25,995 for a base 2013 Malibu Eco with front-wheel drive, 182-horsepower, Ecotec, direct gasoline injection, four-cylinder engine mated to a 15-kilowatt electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack.
The new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C was spied as it took a trip through Michigan, and so far it looks incredible. It was covered pretty well, but we can tell it's going to to be a game changer once it is officially released. What do you think so far?
Yes, the first wave of 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 spy photos broke long ago, but as Chevy’s latest and greatest sports car inches closer to production, prototype cars are apparently becoming an increasingly common site on public roads.
Case in point? A CorvetteBlogger reader bumped into a Corvette testing group in Holly, Michigan, roughly 19 miles north of General Motors’ proving grounds in Milford, Michigan. The video and photos show little we haven’t previously seen, but no matter – it should still be enough to pique the interest of Vette fans nonetheless.
It’s impossible to hear much over the video’s wind noise, but the poster claims the C7 prototypes emitted a familiar small-block burble from the tailpipe. No surprise, given our Sneak Preview story suggests that, contrary to early rumors, the next Vette won’t offer a V-6 right off the bat. Expect Chevy’s next-generation small-block to displace close to 5.5 liters and produce close to 440 hp in base form. That engine will likely boast both cylinder deactivation and direct fuel injection.
The new 2014 Chevrolet Impala stole the show at this years 2012 New York International Auto Show. With a new design, unique style, and the addition of some eye-catching technology, the new Impala is sure to please many drivers. What do you think of the new design?
The 2014 Impala debuts with a new, muscular design that calls on equal parts Malibu and Camaro to create a look that Chevrolet says "looks much more expensive than it is." Classic Impala design cues, such as the leaping Impala emblem on the C pillar and the raised Impala lettering on a rear chrome bar, blend with the more modern Chevrolet design language to create a large sedan that, while a bit visually busy from certain angles, is athletic and muscular.
Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system will grace the Impala's dashboard with its large 8-inch color touch screen, keeping the driver and passenger informed and entertained. Skip the MyLink system and you'll still find yourself looking at a smaller 4.2-inch display. And keeping the passengers safe are a selection of new safety features, including full-speed-range adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning, side blind-zone alert, and rear cross-traffic alert. There's also an industry first front-center side airbag that, aside from being a mouthful, inflates between the front seats in a side collision to keep the front passengers from re-enacting an episode of the Three Stooges and knocking heads together.
The 2014 Chevy Traverse has taken on a new face, as well as some fundamental changes for the better. Not only has the grill been upgraded, but the so has the engine behind it. Drivers will feel the power of a V-8 with better fuel economy of a V-6, and will have more space than any other car of its size on the inside. What do you think of the new Traverse?
Chevrolet Traverse, a three-row crossover, gets some fairly significant styling changes for 2013, including a new front end that Chevy says will be the example for others to come.
The front has one of those bulging "powerdome" hoods, a new grille design with chrome accents, new headlights and sculpting meant to tie it to the new Malibu sedan for a "consistent family resemblance." We guess that means you won't be left asking, "Who's your daddy?"
In the rear, Traverse gets redesigned taillights, and the license plate position is moved into the tailgate.
Chevrolet leaked a shot of the 2014 Impala, which is to be fully revealed in in next months New York Auto Show. Chevy hopes to attract more individual customers, as it aims to reestablish the new Impala as a family car. Take a look, what do you think so far?
Chevrolet aims to make the 2014 Impala a showpiece, a car that demands attention. The company promises to deliver style, value, fuel economy, comfort and handling, Clark says.
GM only provided me an industry teaser photo for this column. It goes into production later this year at General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant, which also builds the Chevrolet Malibu and Volt.
“They need to use this car to get people who don’t think about Chevrolet to consider the brand,” said Jim Hall, managing director of 2953 Analytics in Birmingham.
Full-size family sedans like the Impala once dominated the American market, and the Impala was top dog. Chevrolet sold a record 889,000 Impalas in 1964, not counting station wagons.
The Chevy TrailBlazer is back in full force, and it looks like we can expect a few changes to the 2012 edition. We'll have to wait for it to come out to see everything it boasts, but for now we can enjoy a small peek before it is fully unveiled at the Dubai Motor Show.
After taking a few years off, Chevrolet's TrailBlazer is back in Thailand. We got a sneak peek of the 2013 TrailBlazer last year at the Dubai International Motor Show, and it will debut next week at the Bangkok International Motor Show. It will go on sale first in Thailand this June; global markets will follow.
The body-on-frame midsize SUV, which is based on the Chevrolet Colorado, returns to the brand after a three-year hiatus. Like its predecessor, it will be available in rear- or four-wheel-drive configurations. It will launch in Thailand with two four-cylinder turbo-diesel powertrain options: a 150-horsepower 2.5-liter and a 180-hp 2.8-liter. They'll be paired with five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions.
GM hasn't confirmed TrailBlazer for the U.S. market, though its unlikely. The automaker did say that additional powertrains for specific markets will be announced later. If it makes its way here, a diesel for the U.S. isn't so far-fetched though, considering the Chevrolet Cruze diesel will soon be available here.
